which is brilliant because now I can see exactly how much everybody has put in the kettle and how much power they are wasting. I have also followed Froggy’s suggestion and turned the thermostat on the hot water down from 75 to 60 (maximum to minimum), and mopped the solar panels to maximise their efficiency.
Meters will be interrogated daily. Initial indications are a reduction of 3 to 5kWh daily in consumption for hot water, 40% to 50% saving. Night rate 15.78c/kWh. After a week’s data, I’ll insulate the fittings on the tank, which are currently big heat emitters.
Just realised, we don’t need the second fridge atm. And I just heard a light switch click. In broad daylight. Gotta go!!
