you freaked - well watso freaked when the daughter of a partner was drying her shoes in front of the air conditioner - and at a high temperature setting (probably about 15 feet away) . watso got up at 2am and noticed the blatant waste of energy (everyone else was in bed) .. anyway, watso stuffed the shoes full of newspaper to show how wet/damp shoes should be dried.
as far as the settings for the air conditioner - about 26C in summer would be fine... 26C is not a bad temperature - and if coming from outside on a hot day, then the temperature is relatively cool.
in winter watso would have had the air conditioner set at about 20c - as there is nothing wrong with wearing something a bit warm .
only the living areas were air conditioned
something that works well in summer , at night time, is to have one or two extractor fans set in the window frame, and suck in the outside cool air.. the operate on about 40 watts and shift about 400cubic metres per hour
