Like I've said in my previous post the Competition Authority are gullible and easily manipulated by the Electricity Industry.
The following is only a portion of the story in the Queensland Times newspaper.
'One thing that surprised me, however, was how much of a free kick the retailers get in terms of what they can charge us on top of our actual electricity usage.
I am yet to get a decent answer from Energy Minister Mark McArdle on why retailers are allowed to charge for customer acquisition and retention costs (CARC). The Queensland Competition Authority has allowed electricity companies to charge $43.17 per customer for what is effectively the cost of marketing to other potential customers.
When I asked Mr McArdle about this late last year, his response was that CARC was important to encourage competition in the "market".'
