Perhaps we should thank Tony for provoking an attempt at rational argument.

I hold gold miner stocks, but I don't expect (given such a tiny amount of gold is bought for "investment") that the $5000 has any chance.

Because it is getting so much press at the moment I expect the price to go up a bit (I even saw an investment adviser in the daily rag advising getting into gold this weekend).

However, you know what they say happens when the average joe starts buying!
