more to do with a labor govt in power imo, mining and carbon tax and god knows what else they will do - scares off investment. aussie stock market topped almost to the day labor got in power...same thing in the 70's which most of you will not remember - but a strong currency is a good thing, the US became the richest nation in history and had a very strong currency which is why it became the default exchange (but maybe for not much longer)
