Govnuts can open up as much land as they want, it will not stop people from paying top dollar to be within inner city areas, next to infrustructure, universtities, work, lifestyle....
The folk paying top prices in Melbourne city don't want to live in Fountain Gate :) You can create your cheap estates and still be faced growing house prices.
It's market forces at work here: scarcity! What would help is inner city councils to get real about planning laws. We need more medium and high density housing around areas of existing infrustructure, not AVJennings type homes 50km's out with absolutely no infrustructure.
