If Mallesons are doing this, then that means that the NAB is foreclosing on these properties. That's not the information that I have.

In any event, the NAB was cold on the idea of lending inner CBD Melbourne / Sydney from back in the mid-90s (circa 1996).

The NAB has also been loathe to lend on any, as you termed it, "student-style" accommodation.
