It is already ending in mining based towns where i have worked in the past. Boom then bust. You go from not being able to find a rental and having to pay 800 a week rent, to the rentals being empty and picking them up for 200 a week or less.
Whether or not that will happen in cities and other nice areas is debatable. But im pretty sure if sydney and Melbourne prices keep rising then the poor will have no choice but to move out of the big smoke.
