Its not sciences intention to - live a little longer - sciences intention is to live forever. I don't think we will have any problem finding out how to live forever by the end of the century. The hard bit is humans somehow finding peace to accommodate us into the future.
Makes you wonder if Abbott scrapped the Science portfolio because of global warming or for religious agenda.
