I know what you mean whereu, personally I like the idea of having a personal robot as a carer especially in the case of when becoming an elderly person and need of care, but not that keen when they have a mind of their own and able to think, as one will not be able to tell what it'll do or of being predictable
So yes I agree we live in interesting times, but when you have people in the same technologies who themselves are preparing themselves for when it hits the fan, that in itself speaks very loud as to the way we should be looking and proceeding at it.
The WEF have also warned that many people will become obsolete, maybe 1/2 need to go
Just before I was watching a news clip of how scammers are using AI to impersonate companies in order to get personal details.
The big question is what will it take for people to wakeup and smell the roses
