Like all new technology it boil down to who controls it. Fully 1 third of the entire planets R&D spend currently is going to A.I. Let that sink in !
If it is harnessed and lead by capitalism then societies will have to start having serious conversations about a living wage for their citizens. It is capitalisms wet dream, labor that works 24/7/365 with no entitlements.
A great example is Demis Hassabis. Before selling it to Google he used his Deep Mind A.I creation to unfold 200 million proteins and then gifted them all to medical science and the world. A.I. has tremendous potential to advance human kind...... or it can just be used to put people out of work and make capitalists richer.
