the olmos is absolutely in play, it produces throughout the acreages.
what we know about the olmos is that near by wells that were drilled horizontally were done so without any 3d's and deliberately drilled low, or below the formation.
the cost of completing several wells out of formation and fraccing them to try and gain connectivity to the rock from below has resulted in very average wells, which have pathetic performance matrix.
so why is that oil company facing a class action from shareholders? perhaps it has a lot of problems both corporate and operationally.
so what happens if you come along with full 3d's, and drill completely in the formation and then frac a well thats completed in producing formation (olmos sands)
well we are going to find out this quarter and next
if i had a choice on which operator and which drilling company and crew, and put my own capital into it, then its little wonder there is a consortium of investors on that olmos project!
