Not my impression of the AGM and of a report in the Advertiser this morning.

“Marathon keen to up the tempo”

Dennis Wood spoke of a pending deal (within weeks) with a specialist underground mining contractor to push the mine forward and cut years off the development time. They would like to have a mine plan, extended drilling and PFS completed by mid 2008. On the environment front they mentioned this at every opportunity and are trying all they can to meet and satisfy all stakeholder concerns.

Goats were mentioned as they are considered by all parties (a wilderness society rep was present) to be the biggest environmental problem of this area and that mining companies may have a role in helping to eradicate the pest.
