What are the possible consequences down the road..... when Aussie manaufacturers start bleating they are now uncompetitive, due to the carbon tax they pay ... and their competitors dont, and jobs will be lost when they are forced to close the business.

A likely govt response in tariffs on those countries with no carbon tax.... equivalent to the carbon tax.... which leads to trade wars... and possibly much worse.

When factory after factory stats closing the govt will buckle and if its not a tariff solution... then taxpayers will be footing the bill instead...

The govt has not thought about the long term consequences.

As for Tim Flannery and his $720,000.00 a year - he is worth nothing if he can't explain why other planets warm and cool when our little place does. The Egyptians had reason to worship the Sun.

Not many research dollars available though is there, Tim, if variations in solar activity is the real reason behind climate change.

Lets not even address the issue of whether most of humanity would like the place to be a little warmer in the first place...

Tried growing veges in Greenland lately? They used and would probably like to again one day. Is the deemed problem, if it did exist, even a problem at all .... overall?
