traditional owners might be keen, but the biggest investor (Rio) has long been fed up with the mine, ever since it was terminally flooded, and it has relied on processing stickpiles or purchasing Uranium to fill its orders.
Rio made it clear months ago that it wouldn't sink money in the 'deeps' development, and the recent loan offer to remediate the land is contingent on ERA ditching any further development ideas.
It matters not if the locals are keen, when the only backer wants to walk away.
Now, at risk of stating the obvious, Rio would be much better investing in a fully functional low cost producer, say PDN.
