we have become a service industry.
building a solar farm takes say 500 people. these jobs last a maybe a year (excluding planning stages). once complete everyone is dumped and the crew running the farm may be 10 people.
almost everything that was supplied for the project was shipped in.
all we did was dig some dirt send it overseas for a pittance and it comes back at ten times the worth.
how many people were on the pluto project when it was built? 5000 maybe. how many people are still on pluto running it? couple of hundred mostly fifo
and your comment on a dying industry? what did i infer was on its last legs? i did not mention anything other than solar and wind. are you saying these are dying?
what i did say is that once construction of any project is finished, so are the jobs
