The problem for the alarmists is that there's no evidence that CO2 has an effect on climate. None. CO2 is a weak greenhouse gas whose effects, according to the logarithm, are diminishing with every single molecule of CO2 that we reintroduce to the atmosphere. The uncertainty of calculation, due overwhelmingly to our water-stabilised planet and the beautiful, chaotic weather, vastly outweighs the theoretical effect of the extra 120-ish molecules per 1 000 000 in the atmosphere.
The advantage of the alarmists is, unfortunately, ignorance...
