I think your right, Crean tried to force the leadership issue and bring it to a head. Crean has always been a strong Gillard supporter and has not been shy in knocking Rudd in the past. Rudd didn't take the bait, he knew he didn't have the numbers. It has back fired big time, Tony Abbott would be laughing, all he has to do is sit back and watch Labor implode.
