It would be nice if the likes of sooker cum suker and yak stated the true reason reason for their hate of the UN and Annan.
But I suppose it is a bit much to expect honesty from this bunch.
I suspect it has nothing to do with Rwanda, Sudan, oil for food or anything else apart from the UN's and Annan's audacity to critisize their beloved Israel and to not support the US's lies and bullsh!t regarding Iraq.
The UN and probably Annan are not without fault and at least Annan is man enough to admit he has made mistakes which is more than can be said for the likes of Bush. These idiots though that bag the UN and Annan ignore some very basic facts about the UN.
The UN is not some independent organisation that makes descions as it sees fit to suit its own agender. It is a democratic body made up of represantives of most countries of the world, representatives who act in accordance to their own countries wishes. The Un can only act to a large degree in accordance with the desires of the members, the UN does not have its own military forces nor does it have the power to force members to deploy their forces.
Mistakes made by the UN or the UN's failure to properly act in many cases are not the fault of the UN, the organisation but the UN members, in other words the rest of the world. Just as when the UN passes judgement on the likes of Israeli actions, it is not the UN organisation passing judgement but the majority of the members.
The are many areas the UN could be improved and it is not without fault but instead of working to fix the problems powerful nations instead veto and ignore decisions that have been democratically made by the UN. Nations like the US that make out they are the great defenders of democracy that is providing democracy does make make decsions that conflict with their own agender.
