Aren't we only interested in whats good for Australia.
Thats called looking out for yourself.
I seem to remember America stepping in to Africa and helping out in Mogadishoo. See the movie Black Hawk Down? thats the place. Alot of thanks they got there.
Why did they get involved in Bosnia?? was that just so they could blow up a few more Europeans.

Its easy to blame them for the ills of the world, Russia is a super power what have they done to help anyone.

Why do you think Australia got involved in East Timor?
I'd like to think it was for humanitarian reasons, but was it for the oil and gas?
Before anyone jumps on me for that staement I must say that I believe Australias involvement in East Timor was one of our finest hours.
