If we must be bipolar maybe authoritarianism and true libertariansim sit at opposite ends of the spectrum. The so-called far left and the so-called far right BOTH stand for authoritariansism. Authoritarian followers need to find new saviours IMHO.
To have any chance of avioding an L shaped depression we need to be trade foccused, inclusive, innovative and trusting.
Should the moronic paranoia of trade wars and isolationism be allowed to prevail a long economic depression will follow.
Sovereign defaults and corporate bankrupcies will happen and money printing will be required but people can climb out of such messes by working with each other, helping each other, trusting each other and so on.
