the crux of his work is based on the Coulomb. the coulomb has it's own unit. Which is silly really. You cannot have a unit named after someone but not have length, time or mass associated with it. So what he does is explain that the Coulomb is a measure of the amplitude of the wavlength. it is a DISTANCE which is a length or known as a SI unit of the metre.
Really facinating stuff.
