For the HIV study, J&J are wired directly to Calimmune's research lab in Sydney, and Geoff Symonds of Calimmune appears to be the aussie connection. Again, great study
results here too.
I wonder if it's because they can get complete coverage of HIV variations in one gene cassette that they looking to a day procedure (ie: partial stem cell ablations). The treated cells would be very effective in a survival of the fittest that smaller number needed to be given to patient??
Although very similar in basic terms to CoH trial, there's something about it that hints at another string to their bow than CoH. Otherwise wouldn't be much point in them doing it, given they are starting 3 years behing CoH. And wouldn't be much point in Rossi contributing to their effort either.
