I think what was happening with labor was Rudd was out of control and he had the support of the voting public and no one in the caucus was prepared to question his decisions,he actually thought that he couldnt be removed and he was all powerfull.All policy had to be sanctioned by him or dumped by him after all he was the PM.But when everything started going pear shaped the party knew they were gone and Rudd was a liabilitie it was time to act.Im stoked he,s gone he never did anything for me and I think the Welsh lassie will revitalise the goverment and probably dump the tax,Swanny has allready said that the tax wasnt the driver in getting the budget into black even though we know it was.
