Aend - good thinking re the underwriters - however nearly always they sub underwrite the whole issue (and split the fee in many cases) - and probably the subs actually want the stock in majority - obviously with some subs speculating for a trade.
Today's confirmation of a deal might ensure that the stock doesn't languish too much, and might reduce the sellers on the issue day.
