How cynical and manipulative (as well as mean and tricky) can Liberal low-lifes get?
The only reason universtities have wooed fee-paying overseas students is because the Libs starved the unis of funds and forced both Aussie and Oveseas kids to pay for a tuition that Bob Menzies felt (in the national interest) should be federally funded and merit (not wealth) based.
My high school tuition was paid for by a Menzies-initiated Commonwealth Scholarship for which the only requrement was to pass an intelligence test.
Similar scholarships (based on merit) were available for university tution.
And that's what I keep trying to tell the thick-headed Liberal clods in here!
The so-called 'Liberals' of today are not as liberal-minded as the founder of the genuine Liberal Party was.
Bob Menzies was a geninue Liberal.
The only interest in students that today's pretend Liberals have is to see how much HECCS cash they can squeeze from them.
What's even worse about slagging off (in a barely disguisied racist way) about fee-paying overseas students when our balance of trade is out of whack, is it ignores the export income that such activity earns Australia - and it ignores the international goodwill we generate by welcoming overseas students to see (for themselves) that Australia is not full of kangaroos, bigots racists, One Nation freaks and Neo-Nazi kid-cagers who try to kid us they are geninine Liberals!
