    Nope, that is not a made up scenario, the place they work had often has people drop shifts, so they ring around. That is now a thing of the past. Thanks Albo!! Happens all the time in the food industry. If you think that is a made up scenario, I now know why you post what you do, you haven't understood the legislation. They could offer shifts, but couldn't ring them to offer, it would have to be on their roster. SO many times shifts would go begging and staff would be overworked.
