Can’t be much clearer than this

“ The Supreme Court issued a ruling on presidential immunity on July 1, 2024 in the case of Trump v. United States. The key points of the ruling are:

The Court held that "Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power entitles a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority. And he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. There is no immunity for unofficial acts."[1]

    Specifically, the Court ruled that:

    1. A former president has absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within their core constitutional powers.

    2. A former president has at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all official acts.

    3. There is no immunity for unofficial acts.[1][2]

Chief Justice Roberts, writing for the 6-3 majority, stated that "the nature of Presidential power requires that a former President have some immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts during his tenure in office."[1]

The ruling does not grant full immunity, as presidents can still be prosecuted for acts committed in a personal capacity. However, it establishes a strong presumption of immunity for official acts that prosecutors would need to overcome.[2][3]
