Of the three major media agencies, only ABC has referred to annuities. Both Fairfax and News Corp have yet to provide any commentary - despite it being highlighted (recommendation 11) as of equal weight to well-described banking recommendations.
The Final Report is comprehensive, and discusses the principles behind securing retirees' financial independence and managing longevity risk including comprehensive income products for retirement (chapter 2).
As part of an efficient superannuation system, the FSI panel also encourages increased competition and development of products. I do not have particular expertise within this industry, and therefore cannot judge how this will impact the current market position of CGF.
