Inspection of the road rehabilitation work done on roughly the first half of Route 617 to Manono.  Some quality control criticism of Crec 7/9 which will require some fixing before the delegation is happy over this 200km or so section between Luambo and Kiubo.  Kiubo is not too far from the half way point to Manono.  Looks like the Congolese are on the ball in regards to the quality required of their road.

Déroulement de la mission de réception provisoire de la route Lwambo Mitwaba dont le PV sera signé cet après-midi.
La Du pk 22 au pk 160 c’est la firme crec 7 qui a effectué les travaux. La chaussé est cette en terre battue mais reste carrossable malgré les grandes et fréquentes pluies qui tombent dans la région. La délégation a cependant relevé quelques faiblesses qui ont constitué les réserves contenues dans le PV de réception provisoire. C’est entre autre la non remise en état des carrières d’où l’entreprise a tiré les matériaux, ainsi que le niveau bas de certain tronçon de la route qui fait que les eaux la traverse par endroit. Au premier jour nous avons fait stop night à Bunkeya et avons poursuivi le lendemain vers Dikuluwe puis Kyubo.
Sur ce tronçon les remarques ont été presque les mêmes mis à part le fait que cette zone et difficile à drainer. L’entreprise a ainsi commencé la construction d’une fosse de rétention sur 5 kilomètres le long de la route. Il lui a été recommandé à certain endroit de rehausser le niveau de chassée et d’allonger les saignés à certain endroit.
Les 11 kilomètres fait par Crec 9 sont très critiqués. Tout est à refaire de l’avis de l’ensemble de la délégation, à commencer par le choix des matériaux. La qualité de ceux utilisés est instable est glissante. Nous en avons fait la preuve en roulant dessus sous une fine pluie. Il est très facile de faire un « tête à queue ». Les remblaies fait sur les deux accès au pont Kyubo se fissurent déjà. Il suffira d’une forte pluie pour que le tout parte. Ces travaux sont également à refaire. Certaines actions menées par Crec 9 sont inexplicables. C’est le cas de la d’une buse placé 3 mètres plus haut du niveau du de l’eau.

Conduct of the provisional acceptance mission of the Lwambo Mitwaba road whose PV will be signed this afternoon. The pk 22 pk 160 is the firm crec 7 who carried out the work. The pavement is clay but remains drivable despite the large and frequent rains that fall in the region. The embankments made on both accesses to the Kyubo bridge are already cracking. It will be enough of a heavy rain for all to leave. These works are also to be redone. Some actions by Crec 9 are inexplicable. This is the case of a nozzle placed 3 meters above the water level.​
