For those that doubt a brick laying robot will ever succeed, consider the change to residential garbage collection since the 70's.
There used to be a crew of 3 men with a truck travelling our streets in the earlier hours of the morning.
2 men were runners to lift garbage cans into the back of truck, and 1 driver.
Since then the whole process of garbage collection has evolved and changed. It will change even more. Uber are experimenting with driverless cars. BHP and Rio already have driverless trucks and trains working the open pit mines.
Soon the garbage trucks will be fully autonomous.

    Please don't misunderstand me here.
I know and have no doubt that brick laying is an incredibly more skillful profession than garbage collection.
But this only means that the technology in computing and hardware required to replace manual bricklaying needs to be a lot higher. Look at brain surgery. No one doubts that brain surgery requires incredible skill, much more than bricklaying but brain surgery too is being replaced by robotics.
