One thing is clear. A Victims of Crime Commission has no business being involved, if that happens, in relation to what may be an ongoing matter. The very name carries a direct implication that there has been a crime and that someone has been the victim of a crime. How does that sit with, as Rumpole was fond of saying, the presumption of innocence, the " golden thread" that is woven into the fabric of justice?
