If Skol has a point, it could be that POG is volatile, therefore as short term parking place it offers no safety.

Of course volatility is a traders friend, especially if you are prepared to go long on the fundamentals.

The percentage of Gold investors who believe Gold will absolutely go Parrabolic is probably much smaller than those who have a healthy concern about the world's ability to pay for its consumption.

Add to this the fact, that anyone who has serious dollars to invest if probably not a raving idiot, and I think that Skols attempts to ridicule "goldbugs" are miss-guided at best.
