I've seen an interview with yat siu, where he talks about the Minecraft acquisition where he suggests that the price was well above the value of the game at the time based on its revenues. But then goes on to talk about the value it obtained through its user base. He suggests that the price tag was paid for access to its users, not so much the game itself. Interesting that this year we've seen many of ab1's partnerships and acquisitions seemingly heavily focused on this principle too.
