the sarcastic side

Although I am now going long this stock (at these discounted prices), there is always the sarcastic side to consider when looking back at the IPO:

(a)there was a 'chairman's list that targeted the 'family money' sector of the market. There was some success in this, with some 'Melbourne family money' giving commitment to subscribe (so for those small players out there, see how its done, you don't receive this information when the 'official IPO' documents are dished out, but behind the scenes the secret large scale allocations are dished out.

    (b) Mc Aleese used credit Suisse and JP Morgan to help finance the deal to buy Cootes from private equity before the IPO. Fast forward and who are the IPO managers? low and behold credit Suisse and JP Morgan. And good old JP has come out with sell side research on MCS with an outperform, even after all the troubles.

You gotta love how the vampire squid cheer squads in operation.
