    if you’re super paranoid/actually have a point, go and scrape articles on the web for the last 24 hours with “new cases” and “corona” referenced, and see if your suspicion is true.
    you’re probably even be right that there’s a large amount of misinformation coming from various algorithmic news sources acting on behalf of interested parties. Doesn’t really mean much though, pretty ubiquitous across the internet on a wide array of topics these days... doesn’t make it a “scam”.
