wrong. as I have pointed out twice already. when we have compassion, we will treat others how we empathetically perceive they (rather than ourselves) wish to be treated. you are very wrong to say: "we will start to treat others as we would treat ourselves".
the view: "we will start to treat others as we would treat ourselves" is the stuff of religious cults.
because we all arise out of the same stuff, and will see that we can not harm onother without harming ourself.

a sensitive person sees that we can not harm another without harming ourself by being inwardly sensitive to the pain & stress that arises from harmful thoughts & intentions
non-harming does not arise from: "because we all arise out of the same stuff"
to arise out of the same stuff is something physical, which is inanimate. the inanimate cannot be sensitive to harm & suffering
