    Very true. It's not like they can say they would use the money to pay down debt and use regular tax income (in theory going to pay down debt)to achieve the super increases.

    This is an example of Rudd creating a false wedge (link to a new tax) for political gain and support.

    The reality is the new tax will be government pooled funds and has allowed them to have more money in the bank at the end of the day to play with.

    With a projected growth of $95 billion in taxes to 2012/13 you need to wonder why they think the resource tax is so critical.
