There seems little doubt that god-neediness is for the minority amongst us that are mentally disturbed.
The majority are happy to lead their lives, not needing superstitious aspects to help them cope.
The good book suggests those who are weak and heavy laden should seek god.
If that makes their life bearable, then I won't deride them, but also won't applaud them.
I think we should assist the weak to cope with life but not encourage it.
Far better we are taught to cope with adversity as we grow.
