The claims are inadequate, making it very difficult to study, test or confirm what the person is claiming or experiencing.
You are dealing with this issue in a one-sided scientific manner--- and as a result--- there is insufficient evidence to draw accurate conclusions
At this point the scientist puts the matter aside saying we cannot work with this issue for now due to a lack of tangible evidence
Jung also saw himself as an empiricist and understood evidence was needed---only he collected evidence related to the human psyche.
He studied a vast amount of material written throughout the ages and felt there was enough to say -----the psyche is real.
His evidence also ame from personal experiences and the study of thousands of dreams, visions and psychic phenomenon that have been recorded throughout history
Jung spent a great deal of time reading up on religions, mythology, alchemy, history and philosophy
As a result he said--we cannot know God, but we have sufficient evidence to say with conviction-----there is a God or Collective Unconscious or Divine or Self and it is within us and influences us throughout our lives
