Turnbull's problem is he is not even close to any sensible liberal centre, he is left of it.
Who in the real conservative centre of the Liberal party is going to stand up and replace him? It can't be Abbott and I believe he knows that, he is not intending to replicate the Kevin Rudd shambles. I don't believe it can be any of the current big players, particularly Bishop, who has stood by and allowed Turnbull to wreck Abbott's work. Needs to be someone from the next generation. Who though? Abbott needs to figure that out, then allow them to nominate themselves then so they don't look like his stooge, then back them.
