As you can see the shorts have now become comfortable with a 6% position. Below the chart is the number of shares sold short yesterday into the rally.
IMO... the shorts intend to aggressively defend their position. Although yesterday's 1/4ly was a good read and should inspire confidence in the company it simply did not hold enough tangible positive forward looking information to excite a change of the prevailing sentiment. For that sentiment to become bullish (and swamp the shorts) what is required is a major shift in ASM's fundamentals... be that KMP receiving big orders, resolution of the funding requirements or something out of the blue. I think in time that will occur but until it does the shorts have control... imo.
