They don't care because it's not their money or shares, they get the loan fees and interest for the shares lent out and then probably have some sort of kick back arrangement with the managers to take part. They ARE making money, it's the flunkies who've put their money in the funds that lose out.
in the past I've seen companies drop out of the asx200 or 300 and then finally start to move. Now i know why
