Seems like we’ve been waiting a lifetime for silver to rocket past all time highs. I’m thinking it might just happen next year. I’ve been trading PM stocks and ETFs for a good long time. Here’s what I’ve discovered.
In a healthy move, junior miners seem to always lead the way. The majors follow, then gold and finally, silver. In fact silver usually doesn’t perk up until the end of a cycle. Then it just explodes higher.
I see things slightly different now. The juniors (gold and silver) will again give you the best ROI. But changes in the gold/silver ratio together with silver’s relative strength over the past few months have me believing that silver is going to lead this time around.
I say that with a bit of caution because usually when silver leads out of a consolidation, it tends to be a false breakout. Still, I think this time is going to be different. We shall see.
