TRY THIS AS A WAY TO FIX HOUSING AFFORDABILITY.
Introduce a "Virtual House Personal FUND" similar to a SMSF arrangement for ordinary people.
Here is the catch: You can only make Authorized Payments out your fund for "personal renting purposes".
You could own a "Real" property or a "Virtual" Property.
This way the Population is more mobile... eg., You can move to a mining town to find work or change suburbs easily and not have to sit in a car or train for 2 hours every day. Australia simply can not afford this 'Sardines in a tin" "Public Transport" wrought.
After you have bought your "Virtual House" then your Superannuation Account would start filling.
Later you could buy a 'Real House' if you wanted to.
Probably this would fix the immigration problem as well.

Someone should set up property trusts that own residential property, sell the units to retail investors, list on the asx so everybody even homeless people can get a piece of the action!
