Just to clear this issue up, it's not exactly a Labour/Liberal policy debate federally.
The federal 3 mine policy was abolished in 1996.
It's now up to each state government's policy as SA is a labour government and allows YC mining.
Queensland atm is anti YC mining, which seems to get dropped when the LNP gets elected (Newman) and reinstated when the ALP gets elected ( Palaszczuk).
As for our tennaments in NW Queensland, my home town of Mt.Isa is 60km west of the decommissioned YC Mary Kathleen mine (RIO).
Both my Father and Uncle (Geologist) worked there.
From all accounts it was a very profitable mine with a good a strip rate.
Our tennaments (PDN) are right next door.
Best place to find minerals is near minerals.
And the ALP are not looking to good for re-election.
