Let's all be polite. Sunnyaus does invest in renewables as outlined at the bottom of his posts (PLS and CXO). So do I as I believe (rightly or wrongly) in hedging my bets. Realistically, my investments in CXO, SYR, PLS and LIS have been rubbish but fortunately only very modest amounts involved. Also fortunately, my investment in PDN (and, to a lesser degree, AEE) have gone well.

It's perfectly acceptable to have a balanced portfolio. So far, my U stocks have far outperformed my renewables stocks. And the bigger picture indicates a significant malaise in renewables resources stocks. Australia is in for a massive haircut in terms of terms of trade if it thinks we can get rid of coal, oil & gas, gold and iron ore. Rest assured, the globe will willingly pay for inferior lignite (from Indonesia) and gas from the US and Qatar if we pack up shop. Such is the long term reality in my opinion. Who knows. Maybe I'm wrong. GLTAH Keith
