Feels like we're following in Europe's footsteps a bit. So after the renewables angle is found lacking and our energy prices bring businesses and households to their knees we'll get some investment in the nuclear space. The most unpalatable element of this direction is the likely requirement to refurb some coal stations to help with the transition. The delay in sorting out our energy needs is only delaying the inevitable.
Just to be clear I think renewable should be part of the mix but it's never going to cut it for our baseload requirements and shouldn't be prioritised at the expense of reality.
