Yes, I know what you are saying as I was born here and have spent 60 years in Australia. There is abject poverty in many countries that do not give welfare as we do in Australia; this is why I send regular money to a Philippines family in desperate need who work but 300 pesos per day doesn't cut the mustard if you know what I mean.
Poverty is defined as the definition in the above link for Australia; my idea of poverty in Australia is people having to rely on welfare to get by or low payed workers living from pay day to pay day barely able to pay for basic necessities.
There is homelessness here too. The long term unemployed are doing it tough, not as tough as Uruguay but tough never the less.
What has this got to do with Gold. Nothing, so end of story.
