I listened to a very interesting program on the BBC World Service the other day about the areas of the economy that will survive in a depression.
I remember one mentioning the word "coke".
Now I presume he meant the drink, not the drug.
Perhaps we could see a coke driven recovery.
So does this mean that Coke a cola Amitel's stock price will rise in 09?
The other interesting aspect of the discussion was the fact that we all need to eat. So I think McDonalds's was mentioned and indeed other "fast food" companies. These stocks I think are only available in the US Dow Jones.
Perhaps Woolies could be a good defensive stock to hold here.
